During the 1963 Louisiana gubernatorial campaign, a group called the Conservative Democratic Organization (CDO) endorsed a number of candidates. The chairman of the CDO was identified as "Guy L. Banister." One of the candidates endorsed for the state legislature was Vernon Gerdes, identified in HSCA Volume X as an employee of W. Guy Banister Associates.
