JFK

Oliver Stone's JFK

The Cast: In Their Own Words

Walter Matthau (Senator Russell Long)

"Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Earl Warren said we're not going to know the truth for 75 years and it's better that we don't. Because too many of our hallowed institutions would be shaken."(1)

Asked whether all the evidence collected by the original enquiry would be made public, Earl Warren replied, "Yes, there will come a time. But it might not be in your lifetime. I am not referring to anything especially, but there may be some things that would involve security. This would be preserved but not made public."(2)
